Has been retained as a bicycle accident expert witness in numerous lawsuits since 2008 throughout the United States, both for plaintiff and defense. Cases have included fatalities and catastrophic injuries, and all types of bicycles including ebikes.

Contributing writer, Bicycling Magazine, 1998-2012, the world’s largest circulation cycling magazine. Published articles (for Bicycling Magazine, Outside Magazine, Men’s Journal, CyclingNews, VeloNews, and many other titles) have included critical reviews of hundreds of bicycles and accessories.

Race director of dozens of USA Cycling sanctioned events, including the nation’s 2nd oldest race, the Longsjo Classic (2012-2019). Announcer at over 50 days of domestic & international road, mountain bike, and cyclocross races (2008-present)

Competition as a national-level elite athlete for 10 years, racing against Olympians and professionals. Bronze medalist, National Collegiate Cycling Championship, 1988.

Holds patents/applications for work in the engineering and design of bicycle products including handlebars, braking systems, power-measuring electronics; additional design and fabrication work with saddles and hand-crafted frames.
